Vadodara was part of the ancient Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway (BBCI), which came in the city in January 1861. In 1951 on 5 November the BBCI Railway was combined with the Rajputana, Saurashtra and Jaipur railways to establish the Western Railway. The Vadodara Railway Station now comes under the Western Railway zone of Indian Railways and this railway Junction is one of the major junctions on the Western Railway Main Line. The Vadodara Junction railway station is one of the busiest junctions in the state of Gujarat with almost 150 trains passing through this busy station each day. The Vadodara Junction comes under Vadodara Division of Western railways. The people can easily go to almost all the parts of India from Vadodara Railway Station.
